ORVILLE F. SEEBER.
Orville F. Seeber, manager of the Union Bank of Regina, has the dis-
tinction of being the oldest resident bank manager in this city. The long
period of his service in this position stands in incontrovertible proof of
his ability and fidelity in discharging the duties that have devolved upon
him. He was born in Smith's Falls, Ontario, on the 31st of August, 1876,
a son of Orville and Louisa (Farr) Seeber, the former a native of New
York State, United States of America, and the latter of England. They
were married in Ontario. For many years the father conducted an agri-
cultural implement business at Smith's Falls, Ontario, and he was highly
respected and esteemed. To Mr. and Mrs. Seeber seven children were
born, Orville F. being the sixth in order of birth. The religious faith of
Mr. and Mrs. Seeber was that of the Church of England.
The public schools of Smith's Falls afforded Orville F. Seeber his early
education and after graduating from high school he accepted a position
in the local post office, where he was employed for six years and in 1899
he became associated with the Union Bank, as ledger keeper. He was
made a bank manager in 1904 and for one year was active in that capacity
at Deloraine, Manitoba. For five years he resided in Indian Head, Sas-
katchewan, and for two years he was manager of the bank in Saskatoon,
and was inspector for the province while there. In 1912 he came to
Regina, where he has since been manager of the Union Bank. There is
no phase of the business with which he is not thoroughly familiar and
he stands high among the most representative citizens of Regina.
In 1907 Mr. Seeber was married to Miss Alice David, a native of De-
loraine, Manitoba. The religious faith of Mr. and Mrs. Seeber is that
of the Church of England. Socially Mr. Seeber is connected with the
Assiniboia Club, and the Wascana Country Club. He has always been
active in athletics and spends a great deal of his spare time in various
sports.
