CHARLES A. SCOTT.
A well known and successful barrister of Biggar is Charles A. Scott,
who was born at Morden, Manitoba, in June, 1891, a son of Stuart and
Annie (McIntyre) Scott, the former a native of Scotland and the latter
of New Brunswick. For about forty years the father has resided in
Morden, Manitoba, and he is prominent in business circles as a
merchant.
The public schools of Morden afforded Charles A. Scott his educa-
tion and in 1912 he went to Saskatoon and articled himself to Arthur
Moxon, now dean of the Saskatchewan Law School. In 1919 he was called
to the bar and practiced in Saskatoon until January, 1922, when he came
to Biggar and bought out the practice of McConnell & McConnell. Al-
though he has practiced here but a short time he is enjoying well-merited
success and is highly esteemed by his fellow citizens and his colleagues.
Mr. Scott is a veteran of the Great war. He was studying law when
the war broke out and he immediately put all personal interests aside
and in 1914 joined the Twenty-eighth Battalion. In 1915 he went over-
seas and was subsequently taken prisoner, being held in Germany for two
and one-half years. In due time he was returned to active service and in
May of 1919 received his honorable discharge from the army. Mr. Scott
is a Mason and along strictly professional lines holds membership in
the Saskatchewan Bar Association. He is unmarried.
