ALFRED CHATWIN SCOTT, M.D.
The medical profession of Indian Head numbers among its repre- sentative members Dr. Alfred Chatwin Scott. He was born in Eden, Manitoba, on the 12th of March, 1887, and is a son of Marshall M. and Mary (Chatwin) Scott, who are still residents of that place. The father, who for many years followed agricultural pursuits and also conducted a hardware business at Eden for some time, is now retired. In the pursuit of his preliminary education Alfred C. Scott attended the public schools of his birth place and subsequently enrolled in the Wes- ley College of Winnipeg, from which institution he was graduated. in 1906. In 1911 he completed a course in Queen's University and the fol- lowing year he made his way westward into northern Alberta, where he spent six months as physician for a railroad construction company. On the expiration of that period he went to Kingston, Ontario, where for eight months he was connected with the Kingston General Hospital, while subsequently he came to the province of Saskatchewan and from 1912 until 1914 was identified with the Saskatchewan Medical College. It was at Indian Head, in 1915, that he enlisted in the Medical Corps for service in the Great war and until 1917 he was active in overseas duty. He returned to Canada with the headquarters staff and located in Regina, where he remained until 1919, in which year he resumed practice at Indian Head. Dr. Scott married Miss Viola Boyd, a native of Indian Head, and they have a daughter, Alice. Fraternally the Doctor is identified with the Masons and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. He is interested in sports of all kinds, being particularly fond of curling.
