
C. E. OLIVER.
For fourteen years C. E. Oliver has been active in the real estate and
insurance business in Watrous and he is one of the town's most estimable
citizens. He was born in Brampton, Ontario, on the 23d of May, 1872,
a son of Alexander and Mary (Castor) Oliver, members of fine old Penn-
sylvania Dutch families. Mr. Oliver followed agricultural pursuits in
the province of Ontario for many years, achieved financial independence,
and is now living there retired, a highly esteemed and respected citizen.
The public schools of Brampton, Ontario, afforded C. E. Oliver his
education and in due time he was graduated from high school. In 1906
he located in Davidson, Saskatchewan, and was there employed as book-
keeper for the Speaker of the House. He was active in that important
capacity until 1909, in which year he came to Watrous and ventured into
the real estate and insurance business.
Mr. Oliver was married to Miss Madge McBain and they have three
children: Robert, Jean and June. Since attaining his majority Mr. Oliver
has given his political allegiance to the Liberal party and he has charge
of the party interests in this district. Fraternally he is identified with
the Masons and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows.
