FRED B. MORRISON, M. A., LL. B.
A successful barrister, solicitor and notary public of Saskatoon is Fred B. Morrison, who was born in Coupar Angus, Perthshire, Scotland, on the 26th of March, 1884, a son of Robert B. and Martha (Maitland) Morrison, natives of Scotland. For many years the father engaged in the mercantile business, but is now living retired. He has always lived in his native country and is a highly respected and esteemed citizen of the community in which he resides. Mrs. Morrison passed away on the 15th of August, 1915. In the pursuit of his education Fred B. Morrison attended the Dun- dee high school and he was graduated in 1907 with the M. A. degree from St. Andrew's University. The LL. B. degree was conferred upon him by Glasgow University in 1911. Immediately afterward Mr. Morrison engaged in the practice of his chosen profession and for one year re- mained in his native country. In 1913 he came to Saskatchewan and located in Regina, where he became associated with Elwood, Emby & Scott. He was admitted to the provincial bar in October, 1913, and after practicing in Regina for three years came to Saskatoon. In 1916 he became a member of the firm of Murray & Munro and the name was changed to Murray, Munro & Morrison, this association being main- tained until the 1st of July, 1919, when he started to practice independ- ently. He has built up an important clientele and ranks among the foremost members of the local and provincial bars. On the 20th of September, 1915, Mr. Morrison was married to Miss Elizabeth Milne, a daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth (Willox) Milne, natives of Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Her father was an engineer, follow- ing that line of work successfully throughout his life. His death occurred in March, 1921. Mr. and. Mrs. Morrison have one child, Alexander Rob- ert, whose birth occurred on the 11th of September, 1916. Since attaining his majority Mr. Morrison has given his political allegiance to the Liberal party and he is a firm believer in the principles of that party as factors in good government. He is well informed on all important questions and issues of the day and is never too busy to lend a helping hand to those things which make for civic betterment. Along the line of his profession he is identified with the Canadian Bar Associa- tion, the Saskatchewan Bar Association and the Saskatoon Bar Associa- tion and he is active in all organizations pertaining to his profession. He is a member of the Saskatoon Club, the Riverside Country Club, the Saskatoon Golf Club and the Canadian Club and he is a golf enthusiast. In 1922 he was president of the Saskatoon Golf Club and has taken a prominent part in the furtherance of that sport in Regina and Saskatoon. Mr. and Mrs. Morrison are consistent members of the Presbyterian church and zealous church.workers. Mrs. Morrison is particularly active in the musical circles of the city, and was president of the Women's Musical Club in 1922. Bibliography follows:
