
FLOYD N. IMHOFF.
Floyd N. Imhoff, mayor and machine manufacturer of Gull Lake,
Maple Creek district, is one of this community:s most substantial and
representative citizens. He was born in Leipsic, Ohio, United States of
America, on the 16th of October, 1888, a son of John J. and Margaret
(Sutter) Imhoff, likewise natives of the United States. Mr. and Mrs.
Imhoff are now residing in Michigan.
In the pursuit of his early education Floyd N. Imhoff attended the
public schools of Ohio and in April of the year 1906 he came to Canada.
He first located at Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and the following year
came to Gull Lake, where he has since resided. He was employed by the
Canadian Pacific Railroad as steam engineer for some time and in 1913
entered his present business as machine manufacturer. Mr. Imhoff has
built up a fine business and his is one of the leading enterprises of its
kind in the district and province. Although he has devoted a great deal
of his time and attention to his business interests, Mr. Imhoff has main-
tained an active interest in political affairs. He was a member of the
town council in 1920 and 1921, and is now mayor of Gull Lake, taking
over the duties of this office in 1921. Mr. Imhoff has proven himself to
be as able a servant of the public as he is a business man.
In 1912 Mr. Imhoff was married to Miss Bertie Jones, a native of
Iowa, and they have three children: Victor, Virginia and Gertrude. The
religious faith of Mr. Imhoff is that of the Methodist church. Fraternally
he is identified with the Masons and is past master of the local lodge.
