
ALEXANDER J. GORDON.
Alexander J. Gordon, barrister and solicitor, has practiced in Watrous
since 1919. He was born at Goderich, Huron county, Ontario, on the
10th of January, 1883, a son of James and Mary (Cook) Gordon, the
former of whom followed agricultural pursuits for many years and is
now living retired in Ontario.
The public schools of Ontario afforded Alexander J. Gordon his educa-
tion and in due time he was graduated from high school. In 1906 he
came to the province of Saskatchewan and located at Balcarres. He
taught school in the Yorkton district in 1907 and 1908 and in the latter
year came to Watrous and engaged in school teaching and farming until
1913. Mr. Gordon took up the study of law in 1913 and was articled in
various law offices in Regina and Watrous. He was also graduated from
Queen's University in that year. He remained in law offices until he was
admitted to the Saskatchewan Law Society, on the 19th of June, 1919.
Since that time he has practiced in Watrous and is enjoying an extensive
and important clientele, handling much litigation before the courts.
In 1909 Mr. Gordon was married to Miss Mabel M. Richardson and
to them four children have been born: Roderick A., Kenneth A., James
A. and Margaret. Mr. Gordon is a member of the Union church. He
is essentially public-spirited and has rendered his fellowmen efficient serv-
ice as a member of the local school board and of the town council. At
the present time he is secretary of the Watrous Board of Trade.
