Letter:
The couple came to the Maxwell district to homestead on the S.E. of 22-40-20,
about two miles North of Maxwell School site. 

Wesley being a stonemason by trade soon had laid foundations for a house and
a barn.  In 1909, Wesley was one of six people nominated to run for school
trustee.  As a result of the July 3rd vote,  Wesley Ennis, B. M. Gee and J.W.
Wheeler became the first Maxwell School Board. 

From this time until 1918, Mr. Ennis spent a great deal of time and effort 
obtaining the necessary documents and permission to form the Maxwell School
District.  

Wesley served as secretary-treasurer for a number of years.
