GEORGE A. PAILLE, M.D.
A prominent physician and surgeon of Melville and proprietor of the Pharmacy is Dr. George A. Paille. He was born in Louisville, Quebec, on the 29th of September, 1889, a son of Alphonse and Emelie (Des Aulxniers) Paille, both natives of the province of Quebec. For many years the father followed agricultural pursuits. He has passed away and Mrs. Paille is now making her home in St. Charles, Manitoba. In 1897 George A. Paille came west to St. Charles, Manitoba, and there received his early education. He attended the St. Boniface Col- lege, taking the arts and science course up to the second year and then finished at Ottawa University, from which institution he was gradu ated with the Ph. B. degree in 1911. In 1919 Dr. Paille came to Mel- ville and since coming here has won widespread recognition for his surgical work, and he is also proprietor of the Melville Pharmacy. In June, 1920, Dr. Paille was married to Miss Y. Gelley of East Kil- donan, Manitoba, and they have a son and a daughter Dr. Paille is a con- sistent communicant of the Roman Catholic church. He has always been a stanch advocate of education and is a trustee of S. Henry's Separate School Board. For recreation from his business and professional duties the Doctor turns to outdoor sports and he is an expert rifleman. During the Great war he served with the Canadian Expeditionary Forces.
