ARCHIE McWILLIAM.
Among the many successful barristers and solicitors of Swift Cur- rent is numbered Archie McWilliam, who has engaged in practice here for some years and has an extensive and lucrative clientele. He was born in Elgin county, Ontario, on the 21st of December, 1889, a son of Alexander and Sarah (Turner) McWilliam. His parents are living near Taber, Alberta, and are representative and highly respected citizens of that community. For many years the father has engaged in general farming and has achieved financial independence. In the pursuit of his education Archie McWilliam attended the public schools of his native province and he was graduated from Queen's Uni- versity in 1913. He articled in law with the present attorney-general, James A. Cross, in Regina, in 1913, and was admitted to the Saskatche- wan bar in June of the year 1916. He began the practice of his profes- sion in Swift Current the following year and has continued to reside here. Mr. McWilliam brought to the profession innate ability and thor- ough training and he handles much important litigation before the courts. In 1913 Mr. McWilliam was married to Miss Ada McWilliam, a native of Ontario. Mrs. McWilliam is prominent in the club and social circles of Swift Current. Mr. McWilliam is essentially public-spirited and is interested in all local movements tending to develop and improve the community at large. He is an active member of the local Kiwanis Club and fraternally is identified with the Knights of Pythias. His religious faith is that of the Presbyterian church. For recreation from his many professional duties Mr. McWilliam turns to the great outdoors and is an efficient golfer, holding membership in the Golf Club. Bibliography follows:
