ALEXANDER E. MACKINNON.
A prominent barrister and solicitor of Assiniboia is Alexander E. MacKinnon, who was born in Nova Scotia, on the 9th of November, 1880, a son of Hector and Anne (McQuire) MacKinnon, retired farmers. His parents are now living in the east and are highly respected and esteemed citizens of the community in which they reside. In the pursuit of his early education Alexander Mackinnon attended the public schools of his birthplace and subsequently enrolled in Truro Academy, graduating therefrom in 1903. He was a graduate of Dalhousie University in arts in 1908, and received his LL.B. degree from that insti tution in 1911. In that year he came to Saskatchewan and located in Regina, where he practiced for a short time. He moved to Ogema in 1912 and was the first solicitor in this district, the first west of Weyburn, south of Moose Jaw and east of Swift Current. In 1913 Mr. MacKinnon came to Assiniboia and has since resided here. He achieved success from the start and is enjoying an extensive and ever-increasing clientele. In addition to his private practice he is serving as town solicitor, which im- portant position he has held since 1913. In 1916 Mr. MacKinnon was married to Miss Francis Mclvor and to their union two children have been born: Margaret and Gene. Mrs. MacKinnon, is a woman of much culture and refinement and she main- tains an active interest in the club and social affairs of Assiniboia. Fra- ternally Mr. MacKinnon is identified with the Masons and is master of the local lodge. He is essentially public-spirited and being ever cognizant of the duties and responsibilities as well as the privileges of good citizen- ship is never too busy to lend his cooperation in the furtherance of any movement for the benefit of Assiniboia. Mr. MacKinnon is a man of high intellectual attainments and is greatly interested in the history of this section of the Dominion. Bibliography follows:
