CHARLES H. IRVINE.
 

	Charles H. Irvine, barrister and a member of the well known firm of
Nay & Irvine of Wilkie, was born in Huron county, Ontario, in April
of the year 1888, a son of Rev. Henry and Emma (Holmes) Irvine, the
former a native of Montreal and the latter of the province of Ontario.
Rev. Henry Irvine has been active in the ministry of the Methodist church
since he was twenty-two years of age and during that time has held many
important pastorates.  He is now pastor of the Methodist church at
Guelph, Ontario, and is respected and esteemed not only by members of his
own congregation but by all with whom he comes into contact.
	The public schools of Listowel and Brampton afforded Charles H.
Irvine his educational advantages and in due time he graduated from
the high school in the latter town. He taught school for three and one-
half years and also taught between college terms.  He was graduated
from Manitoba University in 1913, with the B. A. degree. He resumed
teaching for a time and then took up the study of law, being articled to
Mr. Nay at Scott, Saskatchewan, in December, 1913. In January, 1917,
he was admitted to the bar and formed a partnership with Mr. Nay,
which association has continued. In 1919 the firm moved its offices from
Scott to Wilkie and has built up an extensive and important clientele. Ex-

	In July, 1920, Mr. Irvine was married to Miss Olive Bradford of
Wynyard, Saskatchewan, and they have become the parents of one child:
Wilma Olive, whose birth occurred on the 29th of June, 1923.  Since
attaining his majority Mr. Irvine has followed an independent course in
politics and although he has never sought nor desired political preferment
he is ever cognizant of the duties and responsibilities as well as the privi-
leges of citizenship. He was reared in the faith of the Methodist church
and is a member of the board of trustees of the local church. Fraternally
he is identified with the Masons and is a member of the Wilkie Curling
and Tennis Clubs.
