VICTOR J. FERGUSON.
A well known business man of Saskatoon is Victor J. Ferguson, chartered accountant, with offices in the Canada building. He was born in Newry, Ireland, in July, 1887, a son of Tom and Margaret (Reid) Ferguson. Tom Ferguson was a soldier and served in the army of his native country throughout his life, being a member of the Northamp- tonshire Regiment. Tom Ferguson died in March, 1899, and Mrs. Fergu- son survived him until December of the year 1921. Victor J. Ferguson was reared in Newry and there attended the pub- lic schools. He also attended a technical school and then served an apprenticeship with various shipowners. He followed that line of work until 1911, when he left Ireland and came to Canada. He located in Saskatoon and here made his initial step as an auditor, serving with the city auditor as assistant for one year, and then went to Regina, where he had charge of the city audit. In 1917 he returned to Saskatoon and established an office on his own account. He received his degree as a chartered accountant in 1914 and has become one of the leading members of this profession in the city and district. In June of the year 1913 Mr. Ferguson was married to Miss Jeannie Marcus. Fraternally Mr. Ferguson is identified with the Masons, hold- ing membership in Imperial Lodge, No.60, and he also belongs to the consistory at Regina. He is a member of the Dominion Association of Chartered Accountants and of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Saskatchewan, being a member of the council of the latter organization. Socially he is connected with the Riverside Country Club and his religious faith is that of the Anglican church, in which he is a member of the General Synod and is a zealous church worker. The interests of Mr. Ferguson are thoroughly identified with those of Saskatoon and at all times he is ready to lend his cooperation to any movement calculated to benefit this section of the country, or advance its wonderful development.
