RODERICK DINGWALL.
Roderick Dingwall, prominent barrister of Rosetown, was born in
Cornwall, Ontario, on the 24th of February, 1886, a son of James and
Mary (Hunter) Dingwall. His father was born in Lancaster, Ontario,
of Empire Loyalist stock and became a prominent barrister of his day,
and Mrs. Dingwall was born in Cornwall, Ontario. The father was
called to the bar in 1868 and practiced in Cornwall for many years. His
death occurred on the 25th of April, 1923.
Roderick Dingwall attended the public schools of Cornwall and in
due time was graduated from high school. In high school he was tl'e
recipient of several medals for general proficiency and in 1902 he won
the Williamson scholarship. In 1906 he was awarded the gold medal in
Greek at Queen's University, and in 1907 graduated from that university,
with the B. A. degree. Upon the completion of his literary course he
took up the study of law at Osgoode Hall and was called to the bar in
1910. In May, 1911, he came to Saskatchewan, was admitted to the
provincial bar and subsequently located in Saskatoon. In January, 1912,
he came to Rosetown and opened an office for the practice of his profes
ion. His work has been marked by an earnestness and a thoroughness
which have won him advancement and he has an extensive clientele, and
at the present time he is also town solicitor. He is the oldest barrister in
Rosetown in point of years of practice. Mr. Dingwall is interested in all
matters of progressive citizenship and is a stanch supporter of the
Liberal party. His religious faith is that of the Presbyterian church.
He is unmarried.
