
JOHN SAMUEL CHISHOLM, M.D.
Dr. John Samuel Chisholm is a prominent physician and surgeon of
Prince Albert. He was born in the county of Wellington, Ontario, on
the 21st of December, 1870, a son of Dr. Thomas and Margaret (Gerrie)
Chisholm, the former a native of near Georgetown, Ontario, and the
latter of Aberdeen, Scotland. For many years the elder Dr. Chisholm
practiced in Wingham and achieved substantial success in professional
circles. He is now living retired in Toronto, at the age of eighty-two
years. Aside from being a prominent professional man, Dr. Chisholm
took an active interest in political affairs and was for several terms a
member of the Dominion parliament. Mrs. Chisholm is enjoying splen-
did health, at the age of eighty years.
In the pursuit of his education John Samuel Chisholm attended the
public schools of Ontario, the high school at Harrison, and subsequently
enrolled in the University of Toronto, where he took up the study of
medicine. He was graduated from that institution on the 9th of June,
1899, and immediately returned to Wingham, where he practiced until
1906. In that year he came to Prince Albert, and has since practiced
here. The Doctor is unmarried.
