
ERNEST T. BUCKE.
Ernest T. Bucke, Master in Chambers for Saskatchewan, with head-
quarters in Regina, was born in Sarnia, Ontario, the son of Julius P.
Bucke, County Crown Attorney and Clerk of the Peace for the County
of Lambton, for nearly half a century. After obtaining his early edu-
cation in Sarnia, Ernest T. Bucke attended Upper Canada College at
Toronto and graduated from Trinity University with the degree of Bach-
elor of Arts. He later attended Osgoode Hall, Toronto, and was called
to the Ontario bar in 1898.
In 1908 Mr. Bucke first came to Regina as Deputy Registrar of the
Assiniboia Land Registration District and the following summer was
acting Registrar for the West Saskatchewan Land Registration District
at Battleford. He returned to Regina in the autumn of 1909, and shortly
afterward entered the department of the Attorney-General, in charge of
the criminal branch of the department, and remained there until the
spring of 1918, when he was appointed Police Magistrate for the province
of Saskatchewan. In the fall of that year he was appointed to his pres-
ent position of Master in Chambers for the province of Saskatchewan,
and since then has had his offices in the courthouse at Regina.
In 1912 Mr. Bucke was married to Miss Agnes I. Sharkey. He is a
member of the Assiniboia Club and is one of the original members of the
Wascana Country Club.
