NORMAN WILLIAM ANDERSON, M.D.
Dr. Norman William Anderson is one of the foremost medical prac- titioners in Lumsden district. He was born in Leeds district, Ontario, on the 1st of September, 1869, a son of James and Anne (Connor) Ander- son. The father successfully engaged in farming in that province for many years, but is now deceased. Mrs. Anderson survives her husband and is living in Toronto. In the acquirement of his education Norman William Anderson at- tended the public schools of Ontario. Subsequently he was graduated from the Kingston Collegiate Institute and then took up the study of medicine in Queen's University, graduating with the M. D. degree in 1898. In the same year he came west and located at Lumsden, where he has since resided. He has built up an extensive and lucrative patronage and stands high among the foremost members of his profession in the city and district. Dr. Anderson is very up-to-date in his methods of treatment and through membership in various medical societies and through reading the best medical literature he keeps in touch with the advance ever being made by members of his profession throughout the country. His offices are located in a portion of his beautiful home. In 1903 Dr. Anderson was married to Miss Emma Martin, a native of Ontario, and to them five children have been born. Mrs. Anderson main- tains an active interest in the club and social circles of the district. Dr. Anderson has always been actively interested in civic affairs and has served as mayor of Lumsden, giving to this community a most satisfac- tory administration. He has also been a member of the town council. The religious faith of Dr. Anderson is that of the Presbyterian church. Fraternally he is identified with the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.
