The Ausland Deutsch were immigrants to Saskatchewan who tended to group settlements which were family oriented as opposed to being commercially inclined. The first immigrants were also private and not poliical by nature.
There were Dutch settlements in the Lloydminster Gen Web Region near Cramersburg and Edam. They also tended to settle in the cities of Saskatchewan. Amsterdam, Carlyle, Leakville, Sybouts were also some Saskatchewan towns with Dutch immigration. Additionally, Magocsi relates that the Christian Emigration Society assisted Dutch immigration to the Yorkton area of the North West Territories (1 in the late 1800s. The majority of these settlers worked with the railways and actually put down their roots in Winnipeg rather than homestead near Yorkton. Later, in 1908, some Dutch immigrants who had first setled in the United States migrated near Moose Jaw. In 1911, another Dutch American group emigrated near Cramersburg, Swift Current Gen Wb region. 1
