I am originally from Glen Ewen, Saskatchewan where
most of my paternal relatives lived or lives. I was back to Glen Ewen
when my grand father passed away on November, 1989. It was a sad time but
I was glad to get back to visit some places that I had not seen since my
family left there is 1961 and moved to Alberta. Most of my relatives have
now passed on and there aren't many Best's living around the area any
more. Most of us have moved on to other towns and cities. Hope to get
back soon to see who is left.

Hello - I was just checking your site for
information on my grandfather, Andrew Leslie, who was city commissioner
in the 1920s and 1930s. Thanks.

I was led here by a letter I received from a
previously unknown
relative who lives in Saskatoon. He states that his father died
in 1983. I did find his fathers name in the Rosthern Town
Cemetary list. So, that was helpful. But, I'm still puzzled
that my family name had traveled that far to Canada. No one in
my family was aware of anyone living there. Till now. I'll keep
searching your genealogy databases for, hopefully, names and links
of other relatives.
Thank you, Bernard Kloian - Canton, Mich. USA

Can you please explain the credit line "Men
of the City"? Is this an organization in Saskatoon. Certainly there
were women doing lots of had work, and women frequently have something to
say about what is going on.
I have not had a chance yet to read your report in its entirety, but
expect to soon. I am a descendant of Joseph Caswell. May I assume
that you are aware of the published "Pioneer Girl" diary of
MaryAnn Caswell?

I found the site to be very good and
interesting. I do have a problem and I hope that someone in Saskatoon
can help me solve it. I am researching the following surnames in Canada:
BELL, DIGGINS/DIGGON, CULL and others. My husbands Grandfather, Richard
Hanna Bell is burried in Hewitt Cemetery near Weyburn. His Mother Carrie
(Carolyn) Elizabeth BELL Franklin was born in Wellington County, Ontario.
I found informaiton submitted by William Wilson (I believe of Saskatoon
or nearby) which connects to our family. I sent him an Email but it was
returned to me. His information was very accurate and was documented. I
thought perhaps that he was associated with a Genealogy Association
there. The Email address given was scotwill@cyg.net - Perhaps his first
or middle name is Scott. Please, if anyone knows him, please have him to
contact me. Billie Franklin, Corpus Bhristi, TX

So far, I have enjoyed browsing through. I
have been to many sites, and they are all incomplete in some regard.
Unfortunatly a lot depends on volunteers, and it takes time. This site
so far has been in the top 5, on my list.
I will keep looking for Sam Rock in Domremy Saskatchewan, 1870-84.

Shafer near Viscount. Sophie died in the spring of 1909, 1910 or 1911,
near Viscount, Sask. Her son Robert also died there about that time. I am
trying to find descendants of this family line but I have had no luck so
far on the Canadian side. Thanks!!!

My grandfather, Ernest Edgar Bellamy, was a
principal in a farm business venture called Agricultural Development Co.
Ltd. close to Plenty/Ruthilda from about 1910 to 1920. It folded and my

I am originally from the Glen Ewen area. My
paternal grandparents were Joseph and Caroline Best. They are buried in
the cemetary there along with some of their sibblings. I am composing a
book on the Best Family. It will be printed soon and it will bring
together the ones from the east to the ones that travelled out west to
settle. I hope that everyone gets as much pleasure out of reading it as I
did putting it all together.
