A short excerpt: the school was organized in 1913 and the school opened June 4, 1914 under E.W. Pilbeam as the first teacher. The first years, the school operated as a summer school. At the end of the First World War, the school building was moved by twnety horses one half mile south of the original school yard. The school district erected a new larger building which opened November 1, 1947.
