As per your instructions I went to Nelson, BC on the 28th of July to get these two woman & deport them ? I saw the Chief of Police and he said he thought they had left for Revelstoke, but I was under the belief they were still in Nelson, with the assistance of the Police I kept watch, and about 4 am caugh sight of them in the window of the West womans house we went into the house but they had made their get-away ? I told the West woman that unless she produced them, I would apply to you to prosecute her as a procures ? she handed them over to the Chief ? and he sent them to me as per attached telegram ? also find attached bill of expences??

Report of Admissions at Waneta BC 1908-1918 transcribed by "Jim Bundy" jbundy48@comcast.net. As it happens, almost all of the people were arriving from various midwestern US states, and on their way to several places in BC and western Canada. A few were arriving directly from Europe. Almost all were travelling by rail.
