ERNEST HENRY INSULL
One of the most prominent hardware merchants in Craik is Ernest Henry Insull, who since 1906 has been successfully engaged in business in this city. He is not only a man of business but is keenly interested in the development and improvement of this community and for ten years has held the office of mayor. He was born in England, on the 17th of May, 1871, a son of Henry Insull, with whom he came to Canada in 1882. His father travelled for a dry goods house for a number of years and achieved success in that connection. Both parents are deceased. Ernest Henry Insull received his education in the public schools of Winnipeg and in 1906 came west to Craik, Saskatchewan. He immedi- ately engaged in the hardware business on taking up residence here and through the intervening years has built up an extensive and important patronage. He is well known throughout Craik as a thoroughly reliable and upright man in every relation of life and this reputation for honor and integrity has made his business prosper and flourish to a wonder- ful extent during the seventeen years of its existence. In 1896 Mr. Insull was married to Miss Edith Dester. She is a woman of culture and refinement and takes an active interest in the club and social affairs of this community. Mr. Insull has always been interested in civic affairs and during the ten years he has served as mayor of Craik many improvements have been made as the result of his untiring efforts in behalf of the community's interests. Fraternally he is identified with the Masons and his religious faith is that of the Anglican church. Laud- able ambition has actuated him in all of his career and brought him to a prominent place among the leading citizens of Craik and the district. Bibliography follows:
