THOMAS T. HAMILL.
Thomas T. Hamill, a prominent resident of Whitewood, is its post- master and is also grain buyer for the Dominion Elevator Company. He was born in the province of Ontario, on the 22d of July, 1865. In the acquirement of his education Thomas T. Hamill attended the public schools of his native province and in 1883 came west and entered for land at Regina on the 4th of May of that year. He homesteaded southeast of Whitewood and for about five years engaged in general farming, his labors bringing him substantial prosperity. Some years ago he began buying grain for individual men who are now connected with the Dominion Elevator Company and since the formation of this company Mr. Hamill has been its grain buyer at Whitewood. There is no phase of the business with which he is not familiar, for he has been active in grain circles for some thirty-five years. On the 22d of June, 1889, Mr. Hamill was married to Miss Rebecca McPhee, a native of Stratford, Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. Hamill have be- come parents of six children: H. C., Thomas L., Raymond W., Effie, Maude and Hazel. Mrs. Hamill takes a prominent interest in the club and social circles of Whitewood. Mr. Hamill is essentially public-spirited and he has been a dominan~ factor in the promotion of many movements for the benefit of his home town. He has served as mayor of Whitewood, giving to this community a progressive and successful administration, and for the past fifteen years has been postmaster here. He was a member of the town council twelve years and is, at the present time, a member of the school board. The religious faith of Mr. Hamill is that of the Presbyterian church. He stands high among the foremost citizens of the town, district and province, and Canada is, indeed, proud to number him among her native sons. Bibliography follows:
