
E. W. GARNER.
E.W. Garner, mayor of Estevan, is likewise active in real estate and
insurance circles. He was born in Walkerton, Bruce county, Ontario,
on the 28th of April, 1887. In the pursuit of his education he attended
the public and high schools of his birthplace and in 1908 came to Sas-
katchewan, locating in Regina. He was employed in the collection depart-
ment of the International Harvester Company in Regina, from 1911 to
1913. In 1915 he came to Estevan and is now mayor of the town. He
is giving to Estevan a prosperous and progressive administration and
enjoys the confidence and esteem of all who know him. In addition to
his administrative office he conducts a real estate and insurance business,
enjoying a gratifying patronage, and he has extensive farming interests
in this district. He was admitted to the Saskatchewan bar in
1918.
Mr. Garner is married and has two children. His political allegiance
is given to the Liberal party and he is a firm believer in the principles
of that party as factors in good government. For five years he served on
the city council of Estevan and was chairman of the finance committee
during 1919 and 1920 and mayor during 1921, 1922 and 1923. Frater-
nally Mr. Garner is identified with the Independent Order of Odd Fel-
lows and he holds membership in the Rotary Club and the local Board of
Trade. He was secretary and manager of the Estevan Agricultural So-
ciety from 1917 to 1923 inclusive.
