J.GRANT COUNTRYMAN, D. D. S.
Since 1920 Dr. J. Grant Countryman has been director of dental serv- ices of the city of Saskatoon, in which position his work is worthy of high commendation. He was born at Chesterville, Ontario, on the 24th of June, 1894, a son of Ezra and Mary Countryman, the former of whom has passed away. In the pursuit of his education J. Grant Countryman attended the public schools of his birthplace and subsequently graduated from More- wood high school at Morewood, Ontario. He took his first-class certificate at the Collegiate Institute at Morrisburg, Ontario, and in 1915 received the B. A. degree from Queen's University. For some time he attended the Saskatoon Normal School and in 1920 was graduated from the Royal College of Dental Surgeons, Toronto University, with the L. D. S. and D. D. S. degrees. Prior to taking up the study of dentistry the Doctor engaged in educational work. After receiving his dentist's degree he came to Saskatoon and was made director of the dental services for this city, and has since held this important position, and in addition he con- ducts his private practice. The Doctor is a veteran of the World war. He was a member of Overseas Training Company, organized under the auspices of the University of Toronto, and the Canadian Army Dental Corps. During his college days the Doctor became affiliated with the Psi Omega fraternity, Delta Chi chapter, of which he is a charter member. He is an active member of the Eclectic Club of Saskatoon, of the Sas- katoon Golf Club and of the Saskatoon Tennis Club. His religious faith is that of the Methodist church and he holds membership in the Third Avenue Methodist church. He has made many friends since coming to Saskatoon, for he possesses a genial and pleasing personality. Bibliography follows:
