My family identifies this as the Ladies Aid. According to the publication Lajord, 1905-1955, perhaps this should be the Union Ladies Aid, which was organized in 1910. The woman in the middle of the picture with the coiled buns over her ears is my Aunt Esther (Hesla) Hanson. She is in profile, with the flowered collar and cuffs, above the lady who is seated and smiling at the camera with the big striped sleeves. The older woman standing in front of her, squinting into the camera, is, I believe, my ggrandmother Olava (Torson) Hesla -her mother and an original settler.
