I'm Martin Lewis Lockhart, called Lew in honour of my grandfather. I'm the father of Frederick Lewis Lockhart (b. 1974), the son of Frederick Lewis Lockhart (b. 1920 and now deceased), the grandson of Lewis Moore Lockhart and the great-grandson of Frederick Lewis Lockhart first mentioned above.
I write with Best Wishes for all!
I am searching for a friend the following names from the Weyburn and Estevan areas: DUKART and ZEHANAVIZ. Any info found on these names would be greatly appreciated. Please notify me of fees for photocoping and mailing.
Thank you.
I am Lynne THOMPSON daughter of Duncan McINNES. I am looking for information about my great grandfather, also Duncan McINNES who lived in Broadview, born 1847; died 1936; worked for the CPR. He was married to Jeanette. They had 5 children, we think. Elizabeth, Andrew, Rachel (married a HUNTER), John, William, (my grandfather, married Ellen May WILSON) and Agnes - one of these daughters married a McINTYRE. His son William also worked for the CPR. If anyone has information, please contact me.
I'm in search of some info. Anne Margaret HURFORD,
my mother in law was Anne M. POLLAND, her
mother was Elizabeth FRASER and Samuel Reid
POLLAND. They either divorced or he died (he was a soldier in
WWI) and lived at Milestone SK., I think I remember. Elizabeth
later married Milton MOORE and had sons Phillip, deceased, (wife
Mary), and George (was still alive 5 years ago). Can you give
me any information on Samuel POLLAND (later spelled POLLIN/POULIN
in Weyburn history book. Also, Anne married Harry HURFORD, son
of Frank Hurford his mother apparently died when he was about
12 there was no remarriage. Frank, I was told, was a "bull"
breeder or had "show bulls" that he took to fairs. I'm
trying to find out where they were from and anything to verify
if any of this info is accurate. They moved to Alberta in 50's??
Can you find anything?
Sylvia Hurford c/o lhurford@shaw.wave.ca (my son's computer).
Parents were: Albert, Madeleine,
Children were: Rose, Antoinette, Jeanne, Andre, Louis & Albertine.
Have lived in Weyburn since 1991 & Daleview and may be Radville since 1913.
Thanks for any help you can provide to a french cousin !

I'm trying to find descendants of some BEATTIE
brothers who emigrated to the Weyburn area from Aberdeen, Scotland
around the beginning of the century. They were the sons of Charles
BEATTIE, an artist, and his wife Agnes ROSS, and their names were:
Charles John BEATTIE born 11 Aug 1874 died Yellow Grass 18 Jan
1908 and his wife, Helen Leslie FORBES, married
Aberdeen 2 Apr 1904
Edwin Newell Burnett BEATTIE born 1 Feb 1877
James Norman Mackenzie BEATTIE born 7 May 1882
Edwin and James were both said to be in "Strossach, Saskatchewan"
in their mother's Will, dated 1927, which I take to be Trossachs.
They were half-first cousins of my grandfather, Robert DONALDSON.
If anyone reading this knows any BEATTIEs, perhaps they could ask them if their ancestors came from Aberdeen, and if so put them in touch with me. I have a lot more about their Scottish ancestry to share.
Looking for information on Mrs. Duncan McINNES.
Duncan lived in Broadview and worked for the CPR. He probably
lived there in the late 1880's to the early 1940's. He may have
been the Station Master or have lived in the station master's
house. I wonder if Mrs. McINNES - Jennie, Jeanette, or Jane might
be buried in the cemetery there and perhaps there would be information
on her tombstone, or an old obituary in the newspaper. This death
may have occured in the 1930's or 40's. If anyone is in the area
and could check the cemetery, I would appreciate knowing the information
there.
Thanks for your help!
Lynne Thompson
I am researching the WHEELER surname
in the Outram Estevan area. This is my husband Wayne's family.
His grandparents were Harry & Bertha WHEELER and we are wondering
if Harry had brothers or sisters also Bertha's maiden name.
Thank you in advance.
BURKHOLDER/MCDONALD/SCRIVER
Am looking for information on Ralph BURKHOLDER who was married
to Naoma MCDONALD, about 1910. Naoma was from North Dakota. They
had 6 kids, before Naoma died 6-12-1917. Two of the kids were
adopted by Naoma's father, John McDonald. One of the other four's
name was Edward, and he kept the BURKHOLDER last name as did the
other unadopted three. The main area of which I am aware the family
resided was Ogema, w/o Weyburn. I could sure use any information
on Ralph, Naoma or their kids. I am also looking for an obit or
news story on James Willis SCRIVER who died in 1909 just outside
Weyburn. He was traveling with two of his yound sons, on the train.
He went out back for a smoke, and took a header when he slipped
on the ice, falling from the train and striking his head resulting
in his death. Any help to Mac McDonald, thanks

I would like to contact someone or a genealogy club that could
assist me with the history of the Redvers area 1890 - 1910. I
am trying to trace down Thomas WILKINSON
or LEWTHWAITE families who were in that
area at that time.
Thomas Wilkinsons wife Elizabeth died in 1900 at Redvers.
Can you put me touch with someone who could assist.
John Ward
