M   TOWN/AREA SUBMITTER'S NAME
  MACDONALD

I was born in Shaunavon in 1932. My mother died in 1938 and is buried in Shaunavon.

Am interested in trying to find out what happened to my father Angus Gillis MacDonald, who vanished in 1942.
After 57 years of searching I found fathers family in Cape Breton, they (as I) know nothing as to what happened to him.

For a short time after my fathers death I lived with a family named COOK in Swift Current. Any help appreciated.

When his father died, his paternal aunt or cousin named Margaret McDonnell Sullivan took a train from Nebr. to Mass. to bring him home with her to raise. He lived with the Sullivans until he was 19 or so and then left never to return. In 1920 he was known to be in Sask. and in March 1943 was living in Admiral, Sask. I would like to know what happened to him and if he had a family etc.

An appeal is made to preserve invaluable documents like old telephone books, Henderson's directories, city directories, pioneer photos, letters, books, town directories, co-op membership books, credit union and elevator books, grain company records, church books, cattle brand books, school records, church lists, homestead maps, and more. These documents list names of community residents and should be preserved. Placing them online or duplicating them will help prevent the loss of primary source documents for family genealogists.
