Bone Trail

The Bone Trail crossed near this marker. First used in transporting buffalo bones to the railway at Saskatoon. The trail after 1900 became the main thoroughfare for settlers going to the Goose Lake Region. One half mile south was the Schell Stopping Place, one of many such, which provided food and lodging for those who travelled . Josephe Schell filed on the homestead in 1902. His house served the public until the coming of the railway to this area in 1908.
